Detailed training programme

Our training programme is basically the same as used by master Yao Chengguang. The main difference is in dividing the whole set of excercises into a different number of modules. The orginal programme of Zongxun Wuguan Yiquan School in Beijing consists of 33 modules, while in Yiquan Academy we have 18 modules (while each module is containing bigger number of excercises). This comes from our teaching experience - with 18 modules it takes about 1 weekend seminar to learn one module and 1 week intensive course to learn one section (3 modules).

 

So the basic level programme consists of 18 modules divided into 6 sections (3 modules in each section).

 

After learning the basic level programme, which consist the most basic variants of all training methods, starting from zhan zhuang, shi li, fa li, through tui shou to san shou and introduction to jianwu, you go through intermediate level, then advanced level and post advanced level - at each level as if repeating the same things, but gradually at higher and higher levels. 

 

Basic level is the first introduction to the whole system, the main focus is to develop the ability to use mind activity in all kinds of training practices. Even when practicing fa li, students are not trying to do this very fast and with maximum power, but in quite a relaxed manner, with mind leading the movement.

 

Intermediate level - the mind activity becomes more intense, there comes idea of big power, while movements become shorter, fa li should become rapid and explosive, many excercises are practiced with changes which enable adapting to changing distance.

 

Advanced level - the zhan zhuang and shi li practice become much more subtle, fa li becomes even faster and practiced in rapid series, with lots of changes in directions.

 

Post advanced level - summarizing all levels - learning the top level ways of practice.
